March 24, 2019 – 9:51pm, EasternTime: Phil Smith is one of the co-hosts of the fantastic podcast The Drummers Weekly Groovecast. He’s also an outstanding musician and teacher. He’s MY drum teacher. When I told him I was doing a podcast about mental health and musicians, he said “I really want to come talk to you,” which surprised me, because he always seemed to be one of the most upbeat and together guys in the room. Now I know the whole story, and man, was it illuminating.

Our interview got interrupted by my dogs several times! I was kind of a tired and distracted mess, and yet somehow we got a great interview!
